A storm

Little Ms. Chloe has started talking up a storm.

Last week, she started saying "Pick it up". I soon realized that this meant to pick her up. Craig hadn't heard it as much, so when he did, he was like, what does she want me to pick up. "Her", I told him.

So we started telling her you mean "Pick you up"? So yes, now she says "Pick you up". Guess the whole pronoun thing is kinda confusing!

On Saturday one of her old teachers, Ashley, came to babysit. Craigs friend Kellie was in town and we went to dinner at this amazing new Peruvian restaurant that was both cheap and awesome. I had Arroz con Pollo. Yum! Then we went to see Burn After Reading. Anyway, Ashley hadn't seen Chloe for a month and was just amazed at how much she is talking.

I took a couple of days off last week to spend with Chloe as her daycare is still closed. On Thursday we went to meet her new teacher at school, Steve, and check out her new classroom, the Star room. I think the change is harder on me than her, so hopefully she'll be happy on Wednesday when school starts. Their class size grows from 7 to 12 children, so it will definitely be a different dynamic. At least she knows the majority of children, and hopefully the new chidren will not have too hard of an adjustment.

Nonna in the house

Craig had hernia surgery on Thursday so Ghislaine came into town to help us with Chloe. It has been so nice having her here. Yesterday she made us meat pie and pumpkin bread with dates. I asked her to make them so we could bring some to Liza and Mark since they have a new baby, little August, in the house.

On Thursday, Ghislaine went with Chloe and Tara to the zoo. They saw Chloe's favorite, the polar bears.

Friday morning Ghislaine had Chloe all to herself so they went to the park. And Saturday we kept busy with the farmers market in the morning and the Belmont Street fair in the afternoon.

Sunday Ghislaine, Chloe and I took a nice walk in the morning, then headed over to Liza and Marks to deliver the food and grab a cuddle with baby August. Chloe grabbed many handfuls of peanut butter crackers, even the ones that Franny had already licked the peanut butter off of. That little girl sure does love her carbs :-) Then it was off to the park for a little run around time before heading home for dinner.

Today Ghislaine is home again with Chloe for the day, as Craig ventured back to work for the morning. I just talked to her and they are having a great morning. They went to the park and then played at home. I had left noodles (Chloe's favorite) for her lunch today, and when Ghislaine asked her if she wanted noodles for lunch Chloe said no (a first) and said she wanted Nonna's meat pie. So cute! So Chloe had meat pie for lunch and now she is happily napping away while Nonna takes a much deserved break!

Labor Day Weekend

Well we did it. . we finally got Chloe moved up into her new room and we all love it. The room turned out great -- the walls are just beautiful and I found some bright pink shag rugs on sale at Target that really make the room "pop" (as I learned is important from all those design shows I watch!). We'll post more pictures of the new room later this week.

We also managed to get Chloe's old room turned into our TV room. Craig spent a few hours getting the TV/DVD/Stereo, blah blah blah hooked up. Crazy that it is so hard to just hook up a TV these days, and we moved our old sofa into the TV room. It is not the most attractive room in the house, but it is growing on me.

I think the only thing Chloe will miss is climbing the big ladder that was in her new room for so long while we were in paint mode.

We didn't get out too much this weekend. Friday afternoon Chloe's friend Franny came for a visit. Franny has a new baby brother, so she came over for a bit so her dad could spend time with the new baby. They had a blast together, as usual.

We made a quick trip to the State Fair on Monday. Chloe enjoyed seeing all the animals, although initially she was a bit timid.

And, Chloe's hair continues to grow. Here is a style her teacher gave her one day. Craig really wants to cut it, but I'm holding off. . soon, soon. . at least we'll get it cleaned up for her a bit.
