Grape Picking

Maya & Bea invited us grape picking with them. Chloe didn't want to eat any grapes, but she had fun finding grapes for Bea and checking everything out. Best of all, it was a beautiful, warm, sunny day!

Apizza Scholls & Ice Cream

We finally made it to the acclaimed Apizza Scholls. This is the pizza place Portlanders rave about. I'm from Chicago. The pizza was good, not bad, good. But people line up for this place. We got there before 5 and were lucky to be in the first seating. Anyway, it was good. If they did take out, I would get it occassionally. Line up again? Nope.

Bea and Chloe had fun playing video games while we waited for dinner. The best part, we didn't have to put money in and they still had fun!

And we left enought room for dessert too. Guess where we went?

Back to school!

After a 3 week break, during which we had a lot of fun, Chloe headed back to school. This year she is in the Seahorse Room, and has 2 new wonderful teachers, Chelsea and Ashley. Here's the happy girl the morning of the first day.

Glamorama

Walking to bring some cookies we baked to Rachel (who we call Rachie), who was Chloe's nanny during the break, until she hurt her back.

No, I didn't ask her to pose. Not sure who gave her that gene!

She is not even 3 yet

But when Craig sent me this picture, I said she was putting makeup on like a pro. Fortunately it is just face paint, Chloe's new favorite thing at the children's museum.

Though seeing her in her first mosh pit was awesome!

and she had a blast dancing with the big girls and listening to the fairy sing!

Usually these animals are the highlight of the Oregon State Fair. We started going when Chloe was 11 months, and have returned each year since. So 2009 marked our 3rd annual trip to the Oregon State Fair. I had never been to a state fair before and really enjoy it. This year, however, was REALLY fun! While Chloe enjoyed looking at the animals the past two year, this year she was really engaged in all that was going on. She had a blast on the rides.

Shoe shopping with Daddy

This girl loves crocs. So we were quite delighted to see the winter offerings. Guess which color she eventually chose?

Field Trips

This year I went on all Chloe's summer field trips with her class. They only do official field trips in the summer and I was so happy that I was able to join them. It was fun watching Chloe with all her friends. Many of them have been in the same class for 2 years now and have developed great friendships.

Chloe and Sam (the 2nd half of double trouble) at the Lovejoy Fountain

Chloe and her classmates eating lunch after playing in Lovejoy Fountain. Chloe is a self proclaimed 'vegetarian' at school . . which to her, i think, means she can eat cheese all the time!

Chloe and Zel at the Hoyt Arboretum

Walking up steps near the Hoyt Arboretum. The field trip was a mini-hike. I like that the one little girl in the picture, Lily, decided to wear her helmet the entire time that day.
