When I asked Chloe what she wanted to be for Halloween this year, she said she wanted to be a horse. Hmmm. Ok. Well? Well, I found this adorable unicorn costume which she loved. Then a few days before Halloween Chloe said she wanted to be a fairy and a horse. Perfect! So she got all dressed up and went trick or treating with her friend Bea. They had a blast and loved getting candy. Chloe's favorite was the M&Ms. . and she actually just ate that for dinner. I guess candy for dinner one night a year won't kill her!
Getting dressed. Fairy dress first, then the horse!
Bea and Chloe are ready to go trick or treating!
This was the scariest house, but the girls were very brave. They wanted their candy!
Hooray! Matching fruit leathers. Yum!

Why Oh Why?
Does Craig teach Chloe things like this? Yes, it will certainly make my trips to the grocery store with her a little (or a lot) slower . . Craig said she did this about 20 times once she realized she could. Oh, and he claims he didn't teach her (or encourage her), she just did it. Funny, she never tried it before with me.

Just another Super Sunday
Craig has been down and out with Swine Flu (as diagnosed by me). So Sunday I really wanted to go to Target and I knew just what to do to get Ms. Chloe to agree to go with me. This is the best Carousel in Oregon! Chloe rode it 3 times and I got new sweaters and books at target. A fun day for the girls!

Matt 'n Sam
Saturday night we had invited our friends Kristi and Kevin, and Chloe's friends Matt and Sam over for dinner. . but Craig was not feeling well so Kevin invited Chloe and me over to their house instead. Chloe and I brought the pizza and rice krispy treats and the Hace's provided the fun. We fed the ducks, and Kevin entertained the kids while Kristi and I chatted away. Chloe fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow, and before going to sleep I asked her what she liked best about her night and she said "Matty & Sammy".

Getting ready for Halloween
We had a pretty full day today. . pretty fun. . but full. . Chloe's party followed by the continuation of project clean up. Craig took a truck load to the dump, and another to goodwill, and last night someone finally picked up the Kelvinator Oven that had been in the basement since Craig first bought the house. . we are starting to actually get closer to having a somewhat organized basement. Yahoo! And in between my clean up sprees, Craig took Chloe over to Bea's house to work on their pumpkins.
Birthday Party #3
Today we had Chloe's birthday party at Pump It Up. I think everyone had a great time. Until we got to the cake. I used America's Test Kitchen cookbook for the recipe, but the cake was not that good. Maya and Liza pretended to like it, but Kama ate the M&M's off the top and threw the rest out, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! Ok, she asked me first, but still . .
Anyway, we had a great time at Pump It Up. . the kids were sweating from running around so much!

Tiny Ballerina
Chloe FINALLY started taking dance class. . she has been asking about it for quite a while so I was happy to find a dance class that fit into our schedule. It is called Terrific Twirling 3's and 4's and it is at the Laurelhurst Dance Studio in Laurelhurst Park.
This is such a cute class, and there are only 4 kids in it. The teacher's name is "Miss Erica" and today was our 2nd class. At the first class, all the kids had little ballet outfits on. . so this week, Chloe was prepared!

The doctor's visit
A few weeks ago we decided to get Chloe a flu shot. Not knowing how she would feel about this, I waited until we had to go to the doctor to tell her. She didn't seem to mind, and I was really surprised. Once we got to the doctor's office, we went into the room with a nurse and the nurse just told Chloe to give me a hug and she would give her the shot. Still, Chloe seemed perfectly calm. Then, she actually got the shot and started yelling "I did not like my shot. I do not like that." Several stickers later, she was happy again.
Today we had her 3 year check up with her pediatrician. Chloe was not at all excited. Once we got her in the room and stripped down to her underwear, Chloe spent the rest of the appointment yelling loudly "I'm tired", and clinging to me like a baby monkey. I'm not sure how the doctor even examined her amid all that. At one point, he grabbed her and brought her to the other side of the room so he could see how she ran, figuring she would run to me. But the little bean outsmarted him, and instead threw herself on the floor and crawled to me.
When it was over, Chloe helped herself to one of every sticker in their sticker box.
Anyway, she grew 2 inches over the past year and they are now predicting her height at 5'6".
Chloe told us later that she doesn't like Dr. Birk, that he is yucky and Bruce (his first name) is like moose. So Craig spent the rest of the night telling Chloe things like:
- Guess who is coming to your birthday party? Dr. Birk
- Guess whose house you are sleeping over at? Dr. Birk
Luckily, Chloe was a good sport and kept saying, no, he is yucky. I sort of blame the Berenstain Bears Go to the Doctor book for how that all turned out!

Guess who had a birthday?
Chloe turned 3 on October 9th. I asked her what she wanted for her birthday dinner. First she said "eggs and toast". That is what she eats most nights. Then she said "macaroni & cheese". So we headed to Laurelwood for dinner and Ms. Chloe ate her mac & cheese. . followed by a trip to Stacato Gelato of course.
We are not actually having her birthday party until the 18th, as her 2 best buddies, Bea and Franny, were going to be out of town Chloe's birthday weekend, and a party is not a party without Bea & Franny!
We did, however, open presents on her birthday and Ms. Chloe cleaned up! We gave her a camera and 2 tutu type skirts. Her Nana and Poppa gave her a butterbee puppet, book and backpack and a sweet little doll that is also a music box. Oh, and she also got a "Knuffle Bunny" which has joined "Sheepie" as one of the things that travel with us everywhere.
Finally, my dad and his wife really seemed to read this 3 year old's mind. They sent her a large puzzle, a life is good purse, a Melissa & Doug Bead set, a bracelet and a Fancy Nancy sticker book. . all things which she loves right now!
