The world should be run by 2 year olds. Imagine how much would get done. They love doing everything. Chloe's favorite phrase these days is "No, I want to do it myself".
Plus, she never wants to change her clothes anymore -- it's so environmentally friendly. She has been wearing the same clothes since she went to bed on Sunday night. They are not too dirty . . . yet!

Buddies
On Saturdays Chloe takes a "Jumpmates" gym class at the Childrens Gym with her friend Bea. It's a daddy daughter activity (for these 3 girls anyway). The class is pretty structured, and Chloe and Bea are not down with that. . so they do their own thing.

Drive time
Chloe and I have a lot of funny conversations on the way to and from school.
Yesterday she found some old photos of her friends Max and Ella, from last Easter. I reminded Chloe of the purple easter basket that Ella and Max had given her. "Talk about it" Chloe said. This is what she says a lot lately, and we talk about the same stories over and over. So I explained to her that sometimes there are plastic eggs in the basket, and they can be filled with things like candy or toys or crayons.
Chloe: "Talk about candy".
Me: "Well, candy is a treat that we eat sometimes, but not all the time, because it is not good for our body."
Chloe: "It is good for my body to eat it all the time"
Our route home from school/work goes right place this, shall we say, adult clothing store. Today when we were driving by Chloe asked about the scantily clad "gentleman" (and I use the term loosely)mannequin.
Chloe: "What is he wearing"
Me: "Um, a costume"
Chloe:"Where are the rest of his clothes?"
Me: "Maybe he is in the middle of getting dressed"
Then, thankfully, the light turned green and we were on our way.

You know it is winter when. .
you spend a week at home with a sick one. Chloe was sick all last week -- at home with an ear infection and bronchitis. She started getting a fever last weekend, and by Tuesday night it had spiked so high that I brought her to the doctor on Wednesday. We had a nanny for 2 days, Mommy for 2 days and Daddy on Friday. She is feeling much better now, but still a little tired out. Our girl who usually has a healthy appetite, was not eating when she was sick. . though I did manage to get her to have a little snack at one point.
And today we are both home for MLK day. We went to storytime at the Airplay Cafe this morning. It was pretty crowded there. . and Chloe spent most of the time playing with a pop up sesame street toy they had. Craig and I, of course, are now both sick too. And it goes on. . but we should all be healthy again in spring. Sigh. So Chloe just got up from her nap and wanted to play with my wallet. . and all the sudden she says "you have 2 Starbucks cards". . yikes! No, I don't think she can read. I think we go to Starbucks too often! And now she is taking all my change and putting it in her cash register. Hmmmm.

Girl time
Last time I got my hair cut I brought Chloe with me. . it was a last minute thing as I wanted to get my hair colored (or colored back to brown) before Hawaii. Amy, my 'beauty operator' as I like to call her, convinced Chloe to let her cut her bangs. So, when her bangs started getting long again, I asked her if I could cut them. Chloe said no, she wanted "the other Amy to cut them" (the first Amy is one that lives on our street). So we stopped by the salon today to get Chloe's bangs cut. She was an absolute angel in the chair. . soon we'll be getting pedicures together I'm sure. Here's a before picture:
And she just looks adorable with her shorter bangs. . you can really see those baby blues!
